What Is Telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry is psychiatric care delivered by live video. You talk with your provider face to face on a screen, the same way you would in the office. It is used for psychiatric evaluations, medication management and ongoing follow up visits.
At Mental Health First, your video visit is with Olga Vizcaino, PMHNP-BC. She asks about your symptoms and history, explains what she finds and goes over your options. You do not have to travel, park or sit in a waiting room.
Our office is in Miami Lakes, close to Hialeah, Miami Gardens, Doral, Miramar and Pembroke Pines. Adults in these areas and across Florida can book a video visit. You must be located in Florida during the visit. If you prefer to be seen in person, that option is always available.

How a Telepsychiatry Visit Works
1. Book your visit
Call 954-620-8808 or use the form. Tell us you want a video visit and which days work for you.
2. Get your secure link
Before your visit, we send you instructions and a link to join. We also confirm your insurance and the paperwork you need.
3. Join from a private place
Open the link on your phone, tablet or computer a few minutes early. Sit somewhere quiet where you can talk openly.
4. Talk with your provider
The visit is a conversation. For a new patient it is a full psychiatric evaluation. For a follow up it is a check on how you are doing.
5. Get your plan
You hear what the provider found and what your options are. Medication is one option. You decide what to start.
6. Follow up by video or in person
You and your provider decide how often to meet. You can switch between video and the Miami Lakes office.
Psychiatric Care You Can Get by Video
Video visits cover psychiatric evaluations, medication management and ongoing follow up care for adults. Conditions we see include anxiety, panic disorder, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD and bipolar disorder.
If you are new, start with a psychiatric evaluation. If you are already on treatment, your follow ups and medication management visits can be done by video.
Some situations are better handled in person, and your provider will tell you if that applies to you. If you are in crisis, do not wait for an appointment. Call or text 988 or call 911.

Video or In Person: Which Is Right for You?
Both formats are with the same provider and cover the same questions. The difference is where you are. Many patients start in person and move to video for follow ups, or the other way around.
Choose video if travel, time or comfort is the main barrier. Choose in person if you prefer face to face, have a poor connection at home or do not have a private space. Our office is at 6001 NW 153rd St, Suite 203, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
You can change your mind at any time. Call 954-620-8808 and we will help you pick.
